A Crowd Barrier, or Punter Barrier using a more colloquial term, is an essential piece of equipment used for crowd control safety at a concert performance. It forms an integral part of every crowd control plan necessary to stage a concert event safely. Crowd barrier forms a safety corridor at the front of stage, with a step at the rear allowing security personnel to lift punters who may be in distress, or even those causing distress, over the barrier to clear space where they can be safely escorted away. Similarly, it provides safety for the performers as it helps prevent unwanted stage invasion by the audience. Crowd barrier is also used to compartmentalise the audience into bays to avoid crowd surges in larger concert events.

Global Truss crowd barrier is a cleverly designed robust fence panel that folds out and bolts to the next panel to form a continuous barrier of any length. The footplate means the barrier resists tipping or sliding as the weight of people standing on it creates their own ballast. The Global Truss aluminium crowd barrier was designed for a sizable production company in Europe almost two decades ago and has expanded to be manufactured and used all around the globe, including, of course, in Australia. There are a number of different models in the range including straight barrier, corners and barriers with gates, and cable access voids. Critically, our crowd barriers have engineering certification in Australia.
