Nikon ECLIPSE Ji Ovation Custom Flight Case – Nikon has partnered with Ovation, part of Design Quintessence, to create a custom flight case designed specifically for their ECLIPSE Ji microscope. The solution supports on-the-road demonstrations across Australia and New Zealand, allowing the system to be transported, protected, and set up with ease at multiple locations.
Supporting On-the-Road Demonstrations Across ANZ
The custom demo unit can be delivered and installed virtually anywhere, giving Nikon the flexibility to bring their technology directly to researchers. Recently, Nikon shared a behind-the-scenes look at the setup process, with team member Chen preparing the system for its next round of demonstrations.
With a dedicated flight case, the ECLIPSE Ji can move efficiently between sites while remaining ready for use upon arrival.
What is the Nikon ECLIPSE Ji?
The ECLIPSE Ji is a fully digital, research-grade inverted microscope designed to support modern laboratory workflows. Built for flexibility, it enables researchers to capture consistent, high-quality data whether working in the lab or remotely.
The ECLIPSE Ji features a built-in scientific CMOS detector, AI-assisted navigation, and Nikon’s 4th-generation Perfect Focus System. Combined with eyepiece-free operation for fully digital workflows—allowing researchers to capture clear, reproducible results while streamlining the imaging process.
A Custom Flight Case for Advanced Technology
To support the mobility of the ECLIPSE Ji, Ovation developed a custom flight case tailored to the system’s requirements. The case is designed to keep the equipment secure during transport while allowing for efficient setup at each destination.
This approach enables Nikon to confidently deliver live demonstrations across Australia and New Zealand. Bringing advanced microscopy directly to research teams.

Bringing Live Demonstrations Directly to Labs
With the support of a purpose-built flight case, the ECLIPSE Ji can be transported to labs for hands-on demonstrations. This allows researchers to experience its capabilities in their own environment.
This approach removes barriers to access and provides a practical way for teams to evaluate the system in real-world conditions.
