It is with profound sorrow that we bid farewell to George Lee, a luminary in the realm of entertainment lighting and one of the visionary founders of Global Truss. George departed from us in February of this year, leaving behind a legacy that spans decades and continents.
Hailing from Taiwan, George’s journey in the industry traces back to the early 1990s, when he embarked as a pioneer in the manufacturing and exporting of entertainment lighting. In 2000, his path converged with a consortium of shareholders from the Netherlands, Germany and the U.S., forming the Taiwan Georgia Corporation and heralding the birth of the Global Truss brand. George’s outstanding leadership and foresight helped rapidly propel the brand to the forefront of the truss manufacturing industry, becoming one of the market leaders in a remarkably short span of time.
George’s unwavering support extended far beyond the realm of business. As a cherished ally of DQ, his encouragement, respect, loyalty, and steadfast support fuelled our growth as dedicated distributors of the Global Truss brand in Australia over the past two decades. Reflecting on our partnership, Ian Wood fondly remarked, “George was encouraging, generous, a true gentleman and friend. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and colleagues alike… all over the world.”
In George’s absence, we mourn the loss of a visionary entrepreneur and the departure of a cherished friend whose impact reverberates across continents.
