Sydney’s iconic Plaza Hotel has undergone a remarkable transformation. Now home to an underground vinyl bar, a classic 1930s-style movie theatre, and an Ibiza-inspired superclub. At the heart of this redevelopment is ‘Level One’ nightclub. Featuring a state-of-the-art Martin Audio Ltd sound system, precision rigging by CVAV, and a structural framework using Global Truss black F34 Square and radial truss.

This project marks Sydney’s biggest nightclub development in a decade. Bringing together world-class sound, immersive visuals and expert rigging to redefine the city’s nightlife.

A 360° Sonic Experience with Martin Audio Ltd

The Level One nightclub now boasts an industry-leading Martin Audio Ltd sound system, delivering unmatched clarity, depth, and immersive 360° audio. Experts Brendon Fava of Xcite Audio Visual and Anthony Russo collaborated to create a system. Balancing power, precision and consistency, ensuring an exceptional auditory experience for clubgoers.

For The Plaza Hotel, Xcite Audio Visual designed and integrated the entire AV system. Equipping Level One nightclub with state-of-the-art technology for a next-level entertainment experience. With over 25 years of expertise in AV & ICT design and integration. They ensured a seamless audio, video and lighting installation, enhancing the venue’s immersive atmosphere.

Precision Rigging & Structural Expertise by CVAV

Contracted by Xcite Audio Visual, CVAV rigged the truss and audio elements, ensuring structural integrity and precise installation. A key challenge was securing the truss to 10 existing timber beams, requiring a custom rigging solution designed and implemented by CVAV. Which was then signed off by a structural engineer. The truss design was based on Xcite’s plans, with CVAV making some modifications for the audio setup and available truss stock within the project timeline.

CVAV rigged all LED wall elements using custom brackets, achieving ultra-precise alignment with less than 0.1mm tolerance between panels and 1mm between vertical and horizontal walls. They also rigged the audio components with integrated acoustic isolation, ensuring optimal sound performance without structural interference.
