On early 2022, NSW faced one of the worst floods in history, and one of the many places that were hit hard was South Lismore, where the water levels reached an astonishing level of 14.4m, more than 2m higher than the previous record.
The impact was so severe that one of the many places that it had affected was a little community place called Creative Lismore Arts Alliance, which aims to provide opportunities for the disabled and others to hone their creative skills to express themselves.
ZED and Streetheart, a Sydney Charity Organisation run by Rik Johnson of Technical Audio Group that aims to help the homeless in need, were on a mission to help rebuild their facility and Design Quintessence was ready to assist with anything they needed.
As the floods kept rising, ZED, the organiser, waited patiently to evaluate the severity of what the floods had done to this community’s home. Once the waters had cleared, the place was so deeply affected that all their valuable equipment, electronics, art pieces and paperwork were destroyed.
To help with the rebuild of their facilities and replenishment of their equipment, DQ took the opportunity to partner up with TAG and donated a few road cases to assist in the transport of all the new electronics the community received.
Creative Lismore Arts Alliance has since managed to get their facility back up and running with a flood plan set in place.
ZED and the team were extremely overwhelmed with the amount of support and donations provided by the industry community. Although the donation was a little act of kindness, we hope this goes a long way for the community up in Lismore in protecting their valuable equipment and allowing them to continue teaching others and giving them an outlet to express themselves.
