A Grande Experience with Van Gogh

Virtual museums have been gaining popularity in recent years, offering a unique and immersive experience for art lovers. One of the most successful virtual exhibitions to date is the Van Gogh Alive Australia – The Multi-Sensory exhibition. Using state-of-the-art technology, the exhibition allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Vincent van Gogh with sound, light, and scent adding to the sensory experiences. This innovative approach to art exhibitions has been well received by audiences from, not only Australia, but all over the world.

Making its debut in Sydney, Australia in 2021 after the ease of lockdowns, it was one of the first major events to be COVID safe. After a successful run, Grande Experiences announced its highly anticipated return in 2022 with the Van Gogh Alive Australia exhibition.

Being an industry leader, Grande Experiences sought to bring critically acclaimed artworks worldwide by combining technology, production, and design. Now with the large count of exhibitions in over 170 cities, across 6 continents, they continue to expand their display collections with the same mission which is to make viewing artworks more accessible.

To make their experience more memorable, Grande Experiences developed Sensory 4â„¢, a new technology that focuses on the use of projection mapping, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) to bring still art to life. These technologies use the combination of sound systems, lighting systems and scent to stimulate the visitors’ senses throughout their visit. They are set to produce the largest-scale display with the combination of these technologies.

The DQ team was approached to supply Global Truss F34 to support and attach fixtures throughout the exhibition. Despite the challenges in all facets of the supply chain, our team continued to persevere through the given circumstances as we believe that there is always a solution to any problem that we come across. In the end, we delivered the truss within our estimated timeframe, and it was a great pleasure to play a small role in the production of Van Gogh Alive in Sydney.
