Whether you need box, flat, radial truss, single tubes, base plates, clamps or more, our extensive inventory means that we'll have your requirements covered
Single Tube
Whilst single tubes are of course not strictly 'truss', they can be treated as part of a truss ecosystem given that they share a common 50mm sizing and also utilise the same spigot and pin based connector system.
Single tubes are available in a variety of lengths and we can also supply a range of curved tubes / radials which can be used individually or joined to form circular segments or complete circles.
We also stock a range of angled couplers which allow single tubes to be used to create a range of shapes including triangles, squares and hexagons.
See our full range of Global Tryss F01 50mm Single Tube components by following this link.
Single tubes are available in both straight and curved options with a variety of radial sizes available
Flat / Ladder Truss
Flat truss comprises two main 'chords' connected with diagonal braces and is available in either straight sections, or as horizontally or vertically curved sections.
A range of angled sections and junctions (multi sided joiners) are also available which allow for the creation of more complex shapes and structures.
DQ supplies flat truss 290mm and 400mm sizes referred to as F32 and F42P accordingly.
This is truss in the true sense of the word in that it forms a structure consisting of members or braces behaving as a singe object with the members being organised as interconnected triangles.
Individual components can be joined to form longer spans using the standard conical pin, spigot and clip system which is common to a number of components in the Global Truss portfolio.
Flat truss is ideal for use over shorter runs or where loads to be suspended are relatively low (load tables are available for reference within our supporting documentation).
Flat truss is actually surprisingly strong but longer lengths have limited capacity it lacks horizontal bracing to resist lateral loading.
Custom lengths, angles and radials are available to order providing you can allow for sufficient lead time.
Curved horizontal, curved vertical and linear flat truss
Tri-Truss / Triangular Truss
Triangular truss or 'Tri-Truss' is a triangular truss system comprising 3 main chords connected with triangular braces.
The triangular configuration increases the strength and load rating of the truss considerably versus equivalent lengths of flat truss because there is now a third chord with three “faces” of diagonal braces. The result is much improved torsional rigidity and resistance to laterally applied loads.
The big advantage of Tri Truss is the ease of balancing the load created by attaching to the central chord when the truss is suspended with the apex pointing down.
Triangular truss provides a great price versus performance ratio, however, it should be considered that to effectively join the truss to make larger structures or runs, all components must be using the same rotational alignment.
Unlike square truss there are many variations in the type of tri truss junctions because the apex of the triangle can be orientated in as many as four different directions - up, or down, or towards the inside or outside of the structure.
DQ carries an extensive range of triangular truss including systems with both bolted connections, such as the A33 (300mm) series, and spigot and pin connectors as utilised in the F33 (290mm) and F43P (400mm) series.
Radial / curved sections are also available in a wide range of radiuses and a range of junctions and connectors are also available.
F33 and F34P sections can also be attached directly to round or square base plates allowing for the creation of self supported truss towers - sometimes referred to as 'totems' which when used with an added top plate can form ideal platforms for mounting lighting effects at height (and when used with appropriate ballast and safety cables or other securing systems).
This type of truss can also be 'warmed' by placing lighting 'within' the centre of the truss, and for those requiring a slightly less obtrusive look, the truss can also be dressed with a truss sock this also being referred to as a scrim.
Custom lengths, angles and radials are available to order providing you can allow for sufficient lead time.
Linear triangular truss - also referred to as 'Tri-Truss'
Square Truss / Box Truss
Square truss, also commonly referred to box truss, is per the naming convention a truss system comprised of four chords arranges in a square rectangular box fashion.
As with flat and triangular truss, triangular bracing between the chords creates an interconnected system and in the case of box truss, higher load rating capabilities again when compared to a similar 'size' of tri truss.
'5 chord' truss also falls under this category however the specialist nature of this truss warrants further discussion in its own section below!
Fully square box truss, i.e. truss with the same dimension on all four sides, also brings the added benefit of being able to be used in any rotation across 90 degree planes, however as you will see from this technical article, we do not recommend that box truss is hung in a 'diamond' configuration.
As with triangular truss, this type of truss can also be 'warmed' by placing lighting 'within' the centre of the truss, and for those requiring a slightly less obtrusive look, the truss can also be dressed with a truss sock this also being referred to as a scrim.
DQ carries an extensive range of square truss from 'miniature' systems such as F14 tiny truss, systems with both bolted connections, such as the A34 (300mm) series, systems with spigot and pin connectors as utilised in the F34 and F34P (290mm) and F44P (400mm) series and the heavy duty F54 and F104 Truss series which feature some impressive load rating characteristics.
Radial / curved sections are also available in a wide range of radiuses and a range of junctions and connectors are also available.
F34 / F34P and F44P sections can also be attached directly to round or square base plates allowing for the creation of self supported truss towers - sometimes referred to as 'totems' which when used with an added top plate can form ideal platforms for mounting lighting effects at height (and when used with appropriate ballast and safety cables or other securing systems).
Custom lengths, angles and radials are available to order providing you can allow for sufficient lead time.
Linear square truss - also referred to as 'box russ'
5 Chord Truss
5 Chord Truss is as its name suggests a truss system with an additional fifth chord.
The 5th chord is usually orientated on the downward face and provides a versatile centrally positioned mounting point for LED screens, lighting, curtains, drapes, signage and more.
DQ also offers an innovative dolly solution which enables our 5 chord truss to become a full pre-rig truss solution as illustrated. This is a great pre-rig truss solution allowing for integration and use alongside other 400mm truss components and for pre-hanging, cabling, testing and programming lighting and other components.
We offer 5 chord truss in 290mm, 400mm and 500mm sizes (F35, F45 and F55 respectively) and which are generally available in 0.5m increments up to 3m in length. We do not however stock some lengths (such as F45 2.5m) as the configuration of horizontal braces and join positions will interfere with too many suspension points required to suspend standard 500mmW and 600mmW LED screen panels.

Pre-Rig Truss
The other 5-Chord Truss we have is our Pre-Rig Truss which has been specifically designed to carry light fittings during transportation (and even whiltst in storage) with the same time-saving features of in-factory / warehouse set-up vs on-site set-up.
With a pinned tongue and clevis connection system, the Pre-Rig is a heavy duty solution that reduces the profile of the truss and lights together as the top-positioned centre chord allows much of the light fitting to hang inside the truss.
